How To Stop Panic Attacks!

We’ll begin this little story with a statement of fact. The best way to stop panic attacks is by losing the “fear” of them.

Yes, it is that simple. It will be simple for you, also, if you just take certain steps.

Having said that, I’ll tell you what happened to me.

I’m glad to say that I only “remember” the scourge of panic attacks. I figured out how to stop panic attacks, and once you know how, they can’t come back!

You can be cured of these harrowing episodes of panic. These attacks are easy to cure and it’s not your fault that you don’t already know how. Please continue.

As I said, I only remember them. I no longer have to endure them. For myself, there is no fear of panic attacks anymore. For me, they will never be back. I fought them for six years until I, all of a sudden, with a simple shift in my thinking, just let them go.

I continue to have anxieties. We all do, to some degree. Only now my anxieties don’t start rising fast, spinning out of control, scaring the daylights out of me and making me think I might be going crazy!

Before I get into the story, I want to say that plans to stop panic attacks were foremost in my mind at that time. I just wanted them gone!

it’s because I was troubled about the attacks and I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to break free from them…these seemingly psychotic events that felt like mental breakdowns.

I saw the panic attack as an “dark evil entity”. A mysterious figure. A frightening, although imaginary, “thing” that was out to hurt me. Or at least wreck my life! And, so far, it was wrecking my life for sure!

Still, after a while I saw the last of the panic attacks come into my space, and, unable to grow and gain strength, give up and go away. For Good. That was one of the best times of my life.

What a moment! It seemed so real that I can recall it like a favorite story.

Here’s a quick rundown of the last time a panic attack tried to force it’s way into my world.

There I was, sitting at a stop light in my car. I started to feel the fear of having a panic attack at the business meeting I was headed toward.

I was sick of meetings but they were a necessary part of my business. Meetings were real trouble for me. I’d had panic attacks in meetings before and there was always the chance that it would occur again.

I was always worried that, at one of these meetings, my face would turn red, break into a sweat, and, unable to think clearly, I’d have to make an excuse to get out of there right away. It had happened before, it would probably occur again, and I couldn’t get that thought, the “fear” of a panic attack occurring, out of my mind.

Right then I sensed the panic attack was just forming into it’s evil self, right behind me, in the back seat. The hair stood up on my neck!

Something sort of changed in me. I decided I wasn’t afraid. And, for the first time, I had no fear. Plus I was a little mad! It was little like I had taken all I was going to take.

I screamed at it. I said something like “I’m no longer afraid of you! You are through here. Get out and never come back!” In my mind I saw myself throwing the panic attack out of the car. I believed it and they never came back.

So that was it, they were done, for good. No more of those horrible panic attacks.

There were six years and a thousand occurrences before this that brought me to this “one move” that day in the car.

So, to finish the story about that time when panic attacks stopped for me, the light turned green, and as I pulled away, I could see, in my minds eye, the “evil entity” being run down by the other cars behind me!

Does this sound crazy to you? I think it might sound pretty weird to me if it hadn’t happened to me! Most of the thoughts that race through your mind during a panic attack have a sort of crazy feel to them, and that’s what makes it all so frightening.

And it’s the fear of a panic attack that causes the panic attack.

If you want to stop panic attacks you HAVE to get rid of the fear. Once that’s done, they’re history!

Now this process of becoming unafraid took me six years! It won’t take you anywhere near that long once you see the method.

You can do it a LOT quicker and you can start right now. It can happen fast!

You can be rid of panic attacks and have a normal life.

Why Do You Need The Beck Anxiety Inventory?

Stress and anxiety are feelings that we all have to cope with on a daily basis. Sometimes it can be difficult to know just how badly we are being affected. Moreover, our anxiety levels can be affected by many factors at any given point in time. The Beck Anxiety Inventory was developed by Dr Aaron Beck to help give both patients and therapists a better understanding of a a patient’s anxiety levels.

The patient is asked 21 questions. The questions are not only designed to help determine the patient’s emotional and physical feelings at that point in time but also over the period of the last week. The therapist does not in any way contribute or try to interpret the patients answers as this could skew the results.

The questions are answered on a scale of 0-3

0 represents -not at all

1 means that there is mild anxiety

2 represents -moderately meaning that it was unpleasant but bearable

3 represents -severely or completely unbearable

Some of the questions are concerned with the physical symptoms of an anxiety attack such as shortness of breath or trembling. Other questions address emotional feelings such as fear of losing control.

The scores from each question are added up and the total is used as an indication of the patient’s anxiety levels over the last week. If the total is 21 or less, then the patient is not considered to be anxious. There is always the possibility though that patient may have been less than 100% honest.

If the patient scores from 21 to 35 they are classed as having moderate anxiety. There is obviously something bothering them and they should take the time to look for the cause so that they can take action to reduce their stress levels.

Any score in excess of 35 is strong indication that the patient is suffering from severe anxiety which is probably having a debilitating effect on their life. If this is the case, professional help is strongly advised.

The Beck anxiety inventory works with all people from all age groups and can even be given orally for very young children or people that can’t read or write. It only takes a few minutes to answer the questions and is one of the more popular tests that therapists use to help categorize their patients.

The Beck Anxiety Inventory is noted as being good at helping therapists distinguish between depression and anxiety. Not all anxiety tests are able to do this well. On a final note, this test can help determine the appropriate level of treatment so that you can heal yourself and go back to living a normal life.

Treating Panic Attack

As an asthma sufferer myself, I have witnessed people in the throes of a panic attack and mistaken them for fellow. The error is very easy to make, since the surface. (Wheezing, difficulty breathing, clammy skin, physical weakness) are very similar.

Usually first time sufferers of a panic attack truly believe they are dying, going insane or having a heart attack. Repeated and seemingly unprovoked panic attacks may be a sign of panic disorder, but panic attacks are associated with other anxiety disorders as well.

Panic attack is crucial to your next reaction. If you choose to use the positive route and be realistic about your symptoms and situation you will most likely be able to combat the attack. However, if you choose to stay negative about the situation and embellish the symptoms, it is almost certain that you will trigger the stress response and lead into a panic attack.

Panic attack is a sudden surge of overwhelming fear and anxiousness, normally without any real reason and without any notification. It could occur with anyone regardless of age, wellbeing or status with many panic attacks being a single occurrence, but certain people experience many occurrences.

Some panic attacks come on very quickly and involve many intense feelings. Other attacks may be less intense and involve fewer feelings. The signs of panic attacks can change or stay the same from one attack to another.

As panic attacks become more frequent, people begin avoiding situations that could trigger them, which is the fear of unknown places.

Sufferers of panic attacks will all have slightly different symptoms, but to generalize, a panic attack is when stress levels are raised to such an extent that the sufferer will experience emotional and physical symptoms as a reaction to panic and anxiety.

It is not an illusion or a hallucination. You are caught in a loop: fearing the fear, and therefore being in fear. A panic attack is not a sign of weakness.
